Sébastien is a swimwear brand based in Paris. The brand only uses a sustainable techno-fabric made with Econyl®, a 100% regenerated polyamide fiber from fishing nets, nylon fluff, industrial plastic waste, yarn discards and fabrics scraps combined with lycra. This fiber technology is designed to provide a long-lasting fit and resist degradation from chlorinated water, the heat and sunscreen lotions up to 10 times longer than unprotected fabrics. It is an innovative and sustainable way to create products from waste in a continuous loop; the Econyl® regeneration system can be endlessly repeated without any loss in material quality. Compared to mechanical recycling, this chemical one allows to go back to the state of raw material removing all foreign substances for a 100% virgin quality, resulting in a 100% regenerated and 100% regenerable Nylon. For every 10,000 tons of ECONYL ® caprolactam we save 70,000 barrels of crude oil and avoid 57,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
