Together with craftsmanship and a sculptural silhouette, her clothing line is designed for an international and contemporary audience. We are so glad that we got to talk to Maxjenny for this month's short story.
How would you describe your style?
I dress luxurious, confident & fun. I love accessories and shoes and I wear everything from Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, No21 to ASOS. High and low. I´m based in Copenhagen which means I dare more than average. To combine the uncombinable. We tend to overdo here, if you own your style, people see that you are self-confident and you will glow.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Copenhagen is so inspiring and I attend a lot of art openings, it gives me a feeling of freedom. I also prefer the Berlin art weeks.
Some pieces have the power to make you feel confident in any situation. Do you have such pieces in your collection? Tell us about what makes them so special to you.
I only wear clothes from my own brand, Maxjenny. My favorite pieces are my coats and the suitjackets, styled with high heels, of course. I wear the suits when I want to get the perfect business look and the coats when I want to be cool but more relaxed. And to the red carpet I wear my C-dress which makes me feel unstoppable.
Do you have a particular fashion memory in your career that you could share with us that has a special meaning for you?
The day Victoria, the Crown princess of Sweden, wore my Stockholm Royal Pink dress in spring 2017. I seriously thought that my website was going to crash. I started out in autumn 2016 so this event made a huge impact on my professional life. I have then delivered several items to the Swedish Royal family and I feel very blessed and grateful.
Who are the female role models that inspire you in your style and career?
It must be my mum because she was a strong woman that wasn´t affraid of anything. She always dressed bold and differently and she is the inspiration of my way of dressing today. She also raised two kids on her own, made home-cooked dinner every night, built her own house and on top of this she had a successful, international fashion career.
Today, when I´m in the same business, I´m so grateful that she gave me the same driving force and energy that she had. I get things done, simply I´m very effective. It´s interesting to be brought up in a matriarchy because you take it for granted and never question female power - it's just there.
Last but not least: which is your favorite designer on seezona.com , besides Maxjenny, of course?
Yuliya Magdych - her collection is outspoken, different, international, non-minimalistic.
