Interview with Thérèse Hellström

In this edition of our small talk series, we had the chance to meet Thérèse Hellström. She is currently based in Paris and working as a writer at ELLE Sweden, Fashion Director at the Danish brand CUSTOMMADE and on top of that, has thousands of followers on her inspiring and vibrant Instagram account. You can see her on the best street style images from Fashion weeks all over Europe in Vogue and Harpers Bazaar, known for her colorful and chic style. We are so glad that we could catch this busy and ambitious woman. She gave us some insights into her life and style. Enjoy!

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as classic but in a colorful way, and of course with a Parisian touch since I live in Paris. Hopefully it’s a combination and style that makes people smile.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I still love the “old school” way of finding inspiration… In magazines, on the street or by going back to the trend archives.

Fashion weeks turned out a lot different this year due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, what was the most memorable about the fashion weeks in 2020?

The most memorable from Fashion Week autumn 2020 was definitely how the industry “worked around” the situation of Covid-19 and found new ways of doing things. This really shows that our own creativity is the only thing stopping us from creating magic.

Aside from fashion, we would love to hear about your other interests in life, what’s your driving force?

I love everything cultural like reading, art, interior etc. It may sounds like a cliché but I believe that fashion goes hand in hand with all of those fields and therefore it is all connected into one big interest.

Some pieces have the power to make you feel confident in any situation. Do you have any such pieces in your wardrobe? Tell us about what makes them so special to you.

Yes I do! A blazer with shoulder pads never disappoints and it makes me feel confident in all situations. Right now I live in my vintage blazer from the 60s that I found in a small pitoresque boutique here in Paris. And of course, I also need to mention the hat… A piece that makes you look like the most fashionable person in the room, always.

Last but not least, which are your 3 favourite designers on Seezona.com and what do you love most about them?

MANURÍ for its statement pieces (love the coats!), Paper London for their talent in creative fashion and AÉRYNE because of its lovely happy design.
